Global Learning Program for Youth Scholarships 2025 (High School Students Cultural Visit)
Gobal Educational Community (GEC), in partnership with Ministry of Educaton of the Zhejiang Province of China, is thrilled to announce an exciting program for the summer of 2025. GEC will provide an opportunity for student-teacher teams to study history and culture in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China from May 29th –June 7th, 2025. Participants will interact with students and teachers from local schools, explore Chinese history and culture, and learn about the impact of sustainability on a rapidly developed society.
This program consists of 80-100 students and teachers, ratio is 10:1. The trip may divide by different departure date and time based on numbers of participants.
In June 2024, we ran a pilot of this program with student-teacher teams from across country.
Who can apply:
Students must be enrolled in the high school (all grades) in the 2024/2025 academic year.
Teachers of grades 4-12 from any subject area. School librarians are eligible for this program. Teachers may come from any type of school (public, parochial, charter, private, or homeschool).
The program covers the travel costs for participants (flights, hotels, and meals) while in China. Participants are responsible for covering the costs of getting to their home airport, international flight, passport, visa, any additional luggage fees, and incidental expenses.
Teams need to be available to travel from May 29th –June 7th, 2025.
In Hangzhou, China, potential site visits may include historic sites, museums, and the local schools, community service activities with special need children, among others. Schedules will be distributed to participants in spring 2025.
1. Interested teachers and students need to complete the application form by 11:59 a.m. ET on Friday, November 1, 2024. Teachers will be asked to upload one PDF file containing the following
Teacher resume (two pages maximum);
Teacher statement of interest in global sustainability and its impact on youth, including any related professional development (one page, double-spaced); and
Student statement of interest in the culture and history of China, exploring sustainable development progress along with the rapid local economic movement, including a statement of the impact of global experiences on the student’s academic goals (one page, double-spaced)

2. Teachers are requested to ask ONE peer or supervisor to complete a brief reference. Please share this link with the person completing the reference.
3. parent or guardian must complete the parent/guardian permission form to allow the student to be considered for this opportunity.
Applications will be accepted until 11:59 a.m. ET on Wednesday, January 15th, 2025.
All applicants will be notified of their application status on or before January 30th, 2025.
